Women and girls face unique challenges during displacement:
➤ Limited access to resources and decision-making
➤ Increased unpaid care work
➤ Heightened risk of exploitation and GBV
➤ Barriers to rebuilding after disasters

Yet, they also play crucial roles in resilience and adaptation.
From leading local climate initiatives to sustaining families through remittances, migrant women are powerful agents of change.

To build a truly inclusive climate response, we must integrate gender into all migration and adaptation frameworks. The time for gender-responsive climate action is now.

Today is #WorldRefugeeDay and a reminder that all refugees deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.

MigraClima supports and welcome refugees and immigrants while remembering there are around 32.5 million refugees in the world who have been forced out of their home countries.

We advocate for a more inclusive and just world.

March is Women and Girls Empowerment Month, a time to recognize and honor the contributions of women everywhere while simultaneously calling attention to the persistent and harmful effects of gender inequality. This is a great chance to spread awareness about the work of female activists and to celebrate the achievements of female political leaders.

Today we highlight Lauren Grant, who is the Director of Field Research at Earth Refuge, the planet's first legal think tank dedicated to climate migrants. Lauren researches and advocates at the intersections of climate-induced displacement, differential vulnerability, violence, conflict and genocide, environmental and social justice, human rights and development.

We need more women advocating for this sensitive topic.

Today we are highlighting Hindou Oumarou Ibrahim who is an expert in the adaptation and mitigation of indigenous peoples to climate change. Oumarou Ibrahim is an advocate for the greater inclusion of indigenous people and their knowledge and traditions in the global movement to fight the effects of climate change.

We'd like to highlight Vandana Shiva, an Indian scientist and agroecological campaigner who founded the @navdanyainternational to protect biodiversity, organic farming, farmers' rights and seed varieties. According to Vandana, agroecology is the first step toward realizing social, economic, and ecological equity.

If we ignore migratory justice, there is no climate justice. Reduce inequalities and take action on climate change are the two key sustainable development goals that we advocate for. To improve this world for both the people who live on it today and for future generations, we must act with understanding and compassion. Education is the way through.
